Handmade bread, savouries etc from Chas & Momo: In the courtyard, next the the Grain Grocer. Baguettes, sourdough, rye, croissant, brioche, all sorts of baked treats. Want something in particular? Just ask them – Chas makes everything himself in their bakery in Thornton Heath.
Store cupboard refills from The Grain Grocer: Wade & Tara are off jumping over a broomstick, but never fear though, the shop will be open this weekend, staffed by others in their collective.

Veg News: Wild Country Organics… loads and loads of amazing tomatoes – all shapes and colours. Also the first cut of romanseco broccoli – if you don’t know what this is, try to find the fractal swirls on the stall! Brambletye… especially good this week are their new season apples & blackberries, as well as their orchard eggs, always. New in season from Brockmans… sweetcorn, apples (discovery) first of the year from Kent, watermelon (limited number), globe artichokes. Plus special offers on cherry toms, mini cucumbers and courgettes.
Kids book swap: Run by local lad Joseph. All donations & proceeds to Upper Norwood Library.

Meat of the week: Organic sirloin – £22kg. Raised by Patrick & Leo Brockman on Brockmans Farm in Kent – the same people who sell veg at the market. All of the feed for the cattle is GM free and is produced on their own farm.

Potions & preserves from Bickertons: This week Andrew promises two limited edition fruit vinegars just for us in Crystal Palace. There’s 8 bottles of blueberry & 14 of the black cherry.
Cake fest from Brett & Bailey: News from Joe & Matt “Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and nectarines – it’s another summer fruits special on this Saturday’s Brett & Bailey stall. We have strawberry and clotted cream cheesecake with toasted oats and vanilla bean; beautifully shiny melba slices with white flesh nectarines, raspberries, almonds and lemon; and the welcome return of our indulgent blueberry, lemon and white chocolate blondies. We’ll also be bringing along a light and luscious lemon and poppyseed Victoria sponge; moreish peanut and milk chocolate cookies; our pistachio and honey cake (think the taste of Italian pistachio gelato in cake form); and regular favourites including brownies made with pecans and fine dark chocolate, chocolate Guinness cake, double carrot cake and our ever-popular sticky buns ;)”

Kids – 11-12pm in Westow Park – Bugs Club: Charlotte & Vinnie will be running the kiddies nature club weekly until end of August, then monthly.
Free farm trip: Put 25 August in your calendar for a free farm trip (including free transport) to Hadleigh Farm in Essex. This is conjunction with the Salvation Army & all ages are welcome.
Do you have any old tshirts lying about? Rockmount School are making upcycled carrier bags out of old tshirts and they will be sold at the market in the coming weeks. This project is part of the schools Green Day, and also has the added benefit of reducing plastic bag use. Please drop off tshirty donations to the Patchwork Farm stall.
