“What are the important questions and priorities to be addressed from local businesses and the local community in terms of how Crystal Palace’s future evolves?”.
That’s the question being posed to three leading local politicians at a ‘Question Time’-style debate meeting being organised by the Crystal Palace Chamber of Commerce tomorrow evening (Thursday 27th).
Response to the event – being held in the Balmoral suite at the Queens hotel on Church Road – has been “phenomenal” say the Chamber, who are expecting a full house.
There will be three local GLA Assembly members Val Shawcross (Labour) Darren Johnson (Greens) and Steve O’Connell (Conservative). The debate will be chaired by Jonathan Croucher, vicar of Christ Church Gipsy Hill and a former City partner with Taylor Wessing.
A Chamber pres release about the event says: “The GLA have big plans for Crystal Palace but what do you think? “Should the top site of Crystal Palace Park be sold off? “Should the process be more transparent?
“Do we need more development in Crystal Palace? “How can we create more jobs? “Will we get a tram or do we want one?
“How do we address Crystal Palace’s problems of being on the edge of five boroughs? “Is the independent ethos of Crystal Palace’s High Street something to be valued?
“This is your chance to have your voice heard and tell the politicians what you think really matters. “What would your question be? Please email Paul Bartholomew at [email protected] to help us structure the debate.
Due to limited space the Chamber would be very grateful if you could let them know by emailing Paul Bartholomew [email protected] or signing up to the event on Crystal Palace Local Facebook Group.
The event starts at 7pm
If you would like to volunteer and assist in putting out chairs and marshalling attendees for this unique event, we would love to have you on board.
You can email [email protected] or simply turn up at 5.30 pm at the venue.
