COMMUNITY PROJECTS FUND LAUNCHED FOR CRYSTAL PALACE PARK
Community or resident groups are being invited to apply for a community grant for Crystal Palace Park.
The confirmation of the community fund, of £240,000, for Crystal Palace Park followed the announcement last summer of a £2.4 million improvement programme, funded by the Mayor of London and Bromley Council.
The community fund, which will continue over the next three years, will award grants to community groups with aspirations to deliver specific projects and activities in the park.
Bromley council leader Cllr Stephen Carr said: “We are committed to securing the long term future of the park but it is also important to keep momentum in the near term too.
“We know there are many local people who are interested in improving Crystal Palace park and we have been working with them for some years now.
“It is important that we continue to work together and this fund has real potential to deliver exciting outcomes not just for the park but also the local community.”
Community fund applications for up to £20,000 will be assessed by a panel, with the first grants allocated to applicants this Summer.
Details about the application process, including eligibility criteria will be available from 15 April, with an envisaged closing date for applications being 15 May.
Potential applicants are advised that there will be surgery or workshop meetings so that practical advice and guidance can be given.
The two prospective dates are Tuesday 21 April at the Lodge in Crystal Palace Park and Tuesday 28 April at Bromley Civic Centre, with further information available shortly. Information will also be available by visiting www.bromley.gov.uk/crystalpalacepark or by contacting [email protected]
