In Croydon Cllr Alisa Flemming (Lab. Upper Norwood) has taken over the new portfolio of children, families and education while in South Norwood Cllr Kathy Bee has taken over as cabinet member for transport and environment
In Lewisham Sydenham ward Cllr Chris Best has been appointed cabinet member for health, wellbeing and older people while her newly-elected fellow ward Cllr Rachel Onikosi has been appointed cabinet member for the public realm.
In its transport manifesto for Croydon, Labour said it would:
work for a sustainable transport system
· fight for an extended tram system
· repair our roads to a good standard
· improve access and safety for cyclists, disabled people and pedestrians
· support 20mph zones in residential areas where communities want them
· protect the freedom pass
· create ‘play spaces’ where communities want them
· introduce a fair parking policy across all of Croydon
