From Crystal Palace Transition Town: One of the things we love about Palace is the community spirit. A couple of other local projects could do with some extra help. Our local foodbank needs a few more volunteers this Saturday 5th April, to collect food outside Sainsburys, as well as driving and sorting in the warehouse.

Meat of the week: 20 per cent off lovely pork roasting joints from Sheila Crighton’s farm Seven Fields. Sheila even grows chicory for these rare breed large blacks because she knows her piggies love it!

Shellfish… Whole crab IS BACK! Large cooked crabs £8.95kg, cooked native lobsters £29.95kg, cooked shell on prawns £2 /100g, small tiger prawns £2.20 /100g, large black tiger prawns £3.70 /100g, live mussels £6kg, Cornish rock oysters £1.25 each or 6 for £7. Smoked fish… smoked hake £14.95kg, smoked haddock £16.95kg, Manx kippers £1.50 each, hot smoked sprats £1.60 /100g, hot smoked mackerel £5 each. All our smoked fish is smoked using traditional methods with no flavourings just wood-smoke and salt.
Gunpowder Pies: Traditional London pie & mash. Homemade cracked pepper pies served hot on the day with parsley liquor or gravy and a splash of chilli vinegar. Choose from beef & onion for meat lovers or butternut squash, chestnut & fennel for veggies.
Bread Bread are away away this week. Janet from Living Water or the team at Blackbird Bakery will be able to supply your weekly loaves. Janet will be cooking up jerk chicken outside Living Water too.

Gluten free/yeast free/dairy free from Elvira’s Secret Pantry: Chocolate-pear cake, strawberry tart (new season), banana loaf, fresh pasta, specialty breads and savoury tarts.
