We are now on two sites – the normal Antenna car park site and also in the Haynes Lane Market courtyard.
The big news this week is that after lots of requests, as of this week the market will be supplying exotic fruits & vegetables. All the extras are organic, fair trade certified where applicable, and fairly traded otherwise. The other important point is that all this produce grows in countries hotter than ours, and we certainly won’t be selling out of season produce, so no watery strawberries in winter. This week’s line up includes bananas, oranges, lemons, grapefruit, mangos, peaches, kiwifruit, ginger and sweet potatoes.

Bugs Club will be back on in The Edible Garden after a month-long hiatus. Catch them in Westow Park from 11am this Saturday (and every week through till the end of August, weather permitting!). This week they’ll be going on a mini-beast hunt around the garden, the Wildlife Trust have been reporting sightings of giant stag-beetles around London so maybe they’ll be lucky enough to find one too!
Do you have any old T-shirts lying about the house? Rockmount School are making upcycled carrier bags out of old tshirts and they will be sold at the market in the coming weeks. This project is part of the schools Green Day, and also has the added benefit of reducing plastic bag use. Please drop off T-shirty donations to the Patchwork Farm stall.
