NEW CHARITABLE BODY FOR CARNEGIE LIBRARY
The Friends of Carnegie Library have been working for many years to support and preserve Carnegie Library as a vital centre and service for the community.
A practical way forward is being developed through the formation of a charitable incorporated organisation, the Carnegie Library Association.
You are invited to attend a public meeting to hear more details, to give your views and get involved – please come on either THURSDAY 22nd SEPTEMBER St Saviour’s Parish Hall, Herne Hill Road 6.30 – 9.30pm Or SATURDAY 24th SEPTEMBER Herne Hill United Church Hall, near the top of Red Post Hill 2.00 – 5.00pm
If you cannot attend, there is an opportunity to get involved through a community survey available on our website www.friendsofcarnegielibrary.org.uk – we look forward to continue working with you to ensure our library service is secured and enhanced with wider compatible use.
Friends of Lambeth Libraries say: “All local protests about the grim – gym – future planned for Carnegie Library have been ignored by Lambeth council. NOW at last they can be fully involved in planning something better..
“The new move does not, of course, come from the council.”
Defend the 10 libraries campaigners were at Brixton Rec on Saturday (September 17) to warn that GLL (Greenwich Leisure Ltd), which runs the recreation centre, poses an ugly threat to Lambeth’s much-loved libraries.
