NEW SIGHTING OF MISSING ROBBIE – YOU ARE ALL HELPING!
A new sighting of missing campaigner Robbie Gibson has been reported by police.
CCTV shows Robbie buying items in a Co-op on the Isle of Wight on the day he went missing.
His friend Joe Duggan who has been one of those at the forefront of the search, says: “I spoke to a police officer who has travelled down to the Isle of Wight and said he was ‘stunned’ by how much awareness we’ve been able to create.
“He’s seen posters and talked to people who knew about#FindRobbie throughout South London, Portsmouth and in the parts of the Isle of Wight – mainly Ryde and Shankin – he visited and it’s made his job easier – so you are making a difference!”
Police are renewing appeals for the public’s help to trace him.
Officers have recovered CCTV footage of Robert at the Co-Op on Landguard Road at 19:45hrs on Monday, 13 June where he purchased a number of items.
He is seen to walk out of the shop and cross the car park to the right before heading in the direction of Shanklin Town Centre.
At 15:00hrs on Monday, 13 June, Robert Gibson, 45, left his home in Gipsy Hill, SE19 to go for a walk.
Officers have since been informed that Robert was seen at 18:45hrs that day catching the catamaran from Portsmouth to Ryde.
He is then believed to have boarded a train at Ryde Pier Head towards Lake and Shanklin.
On Tuesday, 21 June, officers released CCTV images of his arrival in the hope that someone may know where he is staying.
Robert is known to enjoy coastal walks and often stays on campsites.
Police and his family are growing increasingly concerned for his safety and wellbeing.
Robert is described as white, 6ft tall, of slim build with grey hair. He wears black rimmed Prada glasses.
