OVERGROUND FESTIVAL NEEDS VOLUNTEERS!
Crystal Palace Overground festival are looking for volunteers for the ninth annual event being staged from June 24th to June 28th.
Volunteers would be asked to give just four hours of their time for what is the area’s biggest community event of the year.
Festival director Noreen Meehan says: “Not everyone can afford to go to cultural events in the capital so we want to make sure that we have something here in Crystal Palace that is free for all, where the community can hang out and have a great time together,
“In order to run the festival, we need people in the local area to help out. “We ask if people can donate just four hours of their time to make it happen and then they can enjoy the festival too!”
Volunteer roles during the 2015 festival include:
– stewarding and ensuring crowd safety
– helping set up venues throughout the festival
– programme distribution and information sharing
– assisting festival goers
– collecting donations
A festival spokeswoman said: “The best bit is that you get something out of it too. “For just a few hours of your time you get to meet like-minded fabulous people, learn more about the area you live in, make friends, be part of something amazing and make to your community.”
This year’s festival includes loads of music, with something for every taste, comedy, kids activities, food and drink stalls from local traders, and an amazing vintage fair. A full guide to what’s on is available on the festival website [http://crystalpalacefestival.org/whats-on-for-2015/].
To get involved please sign up on the festival website [http://crystalpalacefestival.org/volunteer/] .
