ROBBIE GIBSON SIGHTED ON ISLE OF WIGHT – £2,500 fundraising campaign set up
Much loved Crystal Palace community activist Robert “Robbie” Gibson, has been positively identified as travelling to the Isle of Wight on the day he disappeared, Monday June 13.
Robbie was seen catching the 6.45pm WightLink Portsmouth to Ryde catamaran, before boarding a train at Ryde Pier south towards Lake and Shanklin on the south-east coast of the island, with part of this journey captured on CCTV, which the police have issued to help jog memories of those around at the time.
Close family friend Joe Duggan, who is helping to co-ordinate the community efforts to find Robbie said, “Robbie’s family, his friends, and the wider Crystal Palace community that value the great work Robbie has done as a library campaigner, would just love to know that he is safe and well. “We are getting increasingly concerned.”
Police say Robert is known to enjoy coastal walks and often stays on campsites.
It is possible that Robbie has now returned to the local South London area, or travelled elsewhere in the country, and the public are encouraged to keep looking for this much loved local campaigner.
A fundraising campaign set up to raise £2,500 to help fund our search for Robbie Gibson has already attracted donations of £1800. The money will be used for flyer production, advertising, basic costs.
