….WHILE FRANK LISSIMORE RAISES £5,000 FOR BARNARDO’S
Fantastic fundraiser Frank Lissimore roared back into Crystal Palace after completing a 1,000-mile motorbike challenge to help Barnardo’s support local families.
Frank, who is managing partner at QualitySolicitors Amphlett Lissimore based in Westow Street, crossed the finish line at The Triangle in Coxwell Road behind Sainsbury’s on August 19 at the end of a gruelling four-day ride from London to Liverpool, Newcastle, Gravesend and back again.
He raised an incredible £5,000 for Barnardo’s through sponsorship and raffle ticket sales after calling in to 15 branches of the QualitySolicitors chain on his BMW R12000, and made it back in time to meet some of the local families using the Triangle’s soft play area.
It is the latest in a series of fundraising efforts on behalf of the charity, following a £4,100 donation in December last year which paid for new playground equipment at The Triangle.
Frank said: “I had always imagined that charities like Barnardo’s didn’t need my help, until I visited The Triangle and was amazed at how much difference a small amount of extra funding can make” said Frank.
“I’m delighted that the funds we have raised will make a real difference to the lives of children and young people in London and all over the UK.
“I was riding for about six hours each day and it’s been great to meet the teams who have been helping to raise money all over the country – although I did notice that some drivers in some parts of England are a lot less considerate than others.”
Steven McIntyre, assistant director of children’s services for Barnardo’s London, said: “It was fantastic to see Frank and his motorbike roll into The Triangle after such a long and arduous journey.
“I can’t thank him enough for his efforts, and for raising vital funds that will enable us to support and connect with many more local families.”

Frank’s Biking for Barnardo’s challenge is the latest initiative in the partnership between QualitySolicitors & Barnardo’s, which dates back to 2010. It was established to enable Barnardo’s supporters and QualitySolicitors’ clients intending to remember the charity in their Wills, to do so without charge.
Gifts in Wills account for half of the money donated to Barnardo’s by the public and provide vital funds to deliver services for disadvantaged children across the UK, in areas such as leaving care and child sexual exploitation.
